E1 - Updated Hike E1 & Camping E1 & camping gear list
We are running a Hills District event over the JOTA/JOTI weekend. Scouts from our district will join one of five hikes starting at various points around the region and all finishing at Bundilla. The hike will be used to support the NSW Commissioner’s Scout Family Support Fund and will be registered as a WOSM Messengers of Peace Badge activity. Scouts will also be joining in the 'Jamboree over the Air/Jamboree over the Internet JOTA/JOTI' event by completing activities along the way.
1st Kellyville Scouts will be doing the historical 8km walk from Parramatta Park to Bundilla.
There is also an opportunity for scouts who have completed the hike to camp overnight at Bundilla Scout Camp, Winston Hills. Due to COVID restrictions this is only available to 1st Kellyville Scouts and we must limit it to 18 scouts.
Cost of hike: $10
Cost of hike + camp: $15
Time: 1:30pm - 4:00pm
Start: Rumsey Rose Garden, Parramatta Park
Finish: Bundilla Scout Camp, Winston Hills
What to bring:
- Day Pack - Including Hand Sanitiser, First Aid Kit, Compass, Wet Weather Gear
- Lunch & Snacks
- Water, Hat & Sunscreen
- Download and complete the Hike E1 and email to Bigbird before the hike.
Start time: 3:00pm, immediately after hike
Finish time: staggered pick up time from 12:00 - 12:30pm on Sunday

Note: Parents to drop off scouts bag and gear including tents (other than what the scout requires for hiking) to Kinta at Bundilla from 1pm on Saturday

What to bring:
- If camping scouts mush also complete the Camping E1 and email to Bigbird before the hike.
- In addition to hike gear scouts must bring:
- Mess kit
- Breakfast - such as small cereal box & long life milk + fruit
- Sleeping mat/stretcher & sleeping bag
- Overnight gear including warm clothes & torch
- Camping chair
- Tent - only ONE scout per tent

Scouts can borrow tents from the scout hall, but this must be arranged in week 1 of term 4. Scouts from the same family can share a tent.
A dinner box will be provided for each scout by a local Chinese restaurant.
Scouts will not be expected to hike with their camping gear. We request parents to drop scouts overnight gear to Kinta at Bundilla Scout Camp on their way to/from the hike start point at Parramatta.
